The first type of contract is the corridor study contract, whereby EDO works with the local community to identify issues, document existing economic and physical conditions, and proposes viable development solutions for a key corridor or artery within a jurisdiction. These studies typically take 6 months to complete and vary in scope due to the geographic size of many corridors. EDO has completed the following corridor contracts: Chester Rd. (Sharonville), Main St./Reading Rd. (Sharonville), Winton Rd. (Springfield Township) Ridge & Highland (Columbia Township); EDO also completed a corridor study of Red Bank Rd./Wooster Pike (Fairfax), in conjunction with the Hamilton County Regional Planning Commission. A scope of services for the corridor study contracts can be accessed in the following document, please click here. The second type of contract is the economic development services contract, where EDO essentially serves the role of economic development representative for a community on all development matters. Tasks under this contract type include retention and attraction efforts for the local business base, maintaining an inventory of all buildings/sites in the community, promoting the community in development arenas, and assisting the community in applying for various public and private grants. EDO currently maintains economic development contracts with the villages of Lockland and Newtown, and Anderson Township. A scope of services is available in the following document, please click here. The third type of contract is the marketing study contract. At the direction of a community, EDO researches a particular market segment, such as the restaurant industry, and conducts extensive research to determine the viability of such a market within the community. These contracts typically contain an overview and outlook for the regional real estate market, segment building inventory, traffic counts, in-depth demographic information, as well as recommendations as to how the community should proceed with their segment attraction efforts. EDO has completed marketing studies of both the restaurant and office industries for the City of Sharonville and a retail study for Springfield Township.
