Next-Gen Companies Highlight Governor’s Visit

Three fast-growing businesses at the Hamilton County Business Center shared the spotlight with Ohio Governor Ted Strickland on his recent visit to the Hamilton County Development Co. Strickland toured the business incubator one day after his State of the State speech, in which proposed a stimulus package to create 80,000 jobs in Ohio. Many of those jobs will be created by small businesses like the ones Strickland met with. They are:

  • Jacobs Automation, which joined the Hamilton County Business Center in June 2007. Founded by MIT graduate Keith Jacobs, the firm has developed new technology for the packaging industry. Called PackTrak, it is a patented technology designed to reduce the time to change over a production line, in some cases from hours to minutes, saving money in the process. PackTrak is a green technology that improves the energy efficiency of production machinery by eliminating chains, belts and gears that waste energy and consume petroleum-based lubricants.
