Commissioner Welcome Letter

Chris MonzelOn behalf of our entire community, it is my pleasure to welcome you to Hamilton County, Ohio—a thriving county with many resources to offer businesses of all sizes and industries.

Historically, Hamilton County has been the business and financial hub of the Greater Cincinnati region—providing easy access to 60 percent of the population in the United States, by car (one day’s drive) or by plane (one hour flight). Our location, on the banks of the Ohio River, and close proximity to the Cincinnati-Northern Kentucky International Airport, together with access to major interstates and rail systems, makes Hamilton County an excellent gateway to various major markets in the United States and abroad.

Location, ease of access, and a business-friendly environment are just a few reasons why numerous major international and domestic corporations (such as Procter & Gamble, The Kroger Company, and GE Aviation) house their headquarters here in Hamilton County. They do so alongside the campuses of excellent private and public colleges and universities; state-of-the-art hospitals and medical research centers; competitive law schools; and other professional institutions—producing a highly skilled and well-educated workforce ready to engage the employers of the region.

With world-class cultural and recreational facilities, Hamilton County has played host to various events and is home to traditionally strong professional and collegiate teams and organizations. From national conventions and festivals to world competitions and concerts (such as the Bunbury Music Festival, the World Choir Games (2013) and the MLB All-Star Game (2015), our state-of-the-art stadiums combined with the backdrop of our newly revitalized riverfront, provide the perfect venue to attract and accommodate major events bringing an economic boost to area business.

The Hamilton County Economic Development Office, a division of HCDC, Inc., stands ready to assist your business to locate to or expand within our unique and diverse mix of urban centers and suburban communities.
